9 Manifest your ideas into reality!

Taking something that doesn't exist and manifesting it into the physical realm is what Creative People do.

Enjoy the creative process today as you bring new art into the world that wouldn't exist without you!

8 Anchoring your Creative State!

Anchoring is a technique used all over the world to get peak performers into the right "headspace".

Use this simple technique to quickly "jump into the Zone" for your Creative Journey.

Steps:

  1. Relive a moment when you were at your creative peak
  2. Spend as much time as you can in that moment and visualize every aspect of that moment (sights, sounds, temperature, smells...)
  3. Use a unique physical gesture to Anchor that moment
  4. Later on use that unique physical gesture to trigger your peak creative state
  5. Keep re-visualizing creative wins in your mind and associate them to the gesture
Here is the four minute version with my own example of how I jump into my improv "happy place":

Try out anchoring for yourself and let me know how it goes in the comments.

*Note: anchoring can be used for any state you want to get into, so you can play around with it and see how it can help you!

Creative people are not immune to hectic lifestyles, looming deadlines, information overload and feeling overwhelmed...

If you have specific techniques for relaxation share them in the comments and we can all try them out.

5 Run Your Own Race!

Many times as a creative you may find yourself comparing your creative efforts to the efforts of others.

STOP COMPARING YOURSELF!

The only comparisons you need to do are with yourself - so you know that you are manifesting more and more of your creative potential. We don't all start from the same place or have the same "WHY" that motivates us - so we can't reasonably compare ourselves with others who come from another place and have a completely different motivating "WHY".

Here is the one second version: Don't compare yourself to others.
Here is the minute and a half version:

No matter what your creative outlet there will always be people to compare yourself to that have mastered the craft over a lifetime, or who have received a "lucky break" - the only person to compare yourself to is you!

Taking even a few minutes to reflect on how far you have come in your creative journey will give you great perspective as you continue to run YOUR OWN RACE!

4 Getting into your Creative Zone!

You have had at least one creative experience where everything was working for you, and you felt like you were really utilizing your full creative potential - You were "IN THE ZONE!"

Sometimes as creative people we struggle through life waiting for "lightning to strike twice",  or waiting until we "feel creative" - as if being in or out of the Creative Zone were something beyond our control.

Take a few minutes to focus on when you were in the Creative Zone and use some basic anchoring techniques to make sure you can jump right into the Creative Zone again! Anytime you want!

The more vividly you can recreate how the Creative Zone felt for all of your senses the more effective the anchoring will be.

One second version: Anchor your experience of being in your Creative Zone by using all of your senses.
Here is the two minute version:
This may not "just happen" the first time you try it so keep using this technique and soon you will find a nearly unlimited amount of creative energy at your disposal!

Don't sit idly by and wait for something external to remind you of your Creative Potential, remind yourself and jump right into the Creative Zone today!

Let's get into the Creative Zone and Manifest our Creative Potential today!

3 Have a Good Laugh!

If you are feeling creatively "tapped out" remember the secret weapon to rejuvenating your mind and body: Laughter!

Laughter WILL change your life if you do it regularly!*

The one second version: Laugh in the mirror for a few minutes to feel great!
Here is the two minute version:

Now don't get carried away and get the giggles all day!

The first few seconds may be a bit awkward while you are working up to the full belly laugh with tears streaming down your face, but that is why using a mirror is so effective - you see yourself TRYING to laugh - and that is the funniest thing in the world!

Bust a gut and get back out there my creative friends!

*consult your physician to make sure Laughter is right for you. Side effects may include: Smiling, whistling, sunny disposition, light heartedness. Snorting while engaging in laughter may cause it to become contagious. Excessive laughter may lead to belly aches and side stitches. Consult a professional comedian if a laughing spell lasts more than four hours.

2 Being a Creative IS a Real Job!

If you are pursuing your creative endeavours then reward yourself today!

Way to go! You are rocking it! You have accomplished more than most fear to attempt!

Don't give in to the nay sayers or those that may minimize your creative contribution to the world!

One second version: Creativity is a real job, that requires real work!
Here is the one minute version:

Celebrate the fact that you have embraced creativity and have taken the bold steps required to "Work" as a Creative.

Creative work is real, requiring daily struggles, and is the noblest of pursuits.

Too often creatives feel shy about the work they do, but they should be the boldest of the bold, for creatives Manifest Something from Nothing and Give it Life in the World.

Keep your heads held high today!  You make me proud!
